Chief Geologist & Senior Geophysicist.

KULCZYK
OIL BRUNEI LIMITED.
Located in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.
Kulczyk Oil Brunei is gearing up to manage operations of the onshore Block L in Brunei, and as such requires a Chief Geologist to manage all aspects of the geological operations and evaluations. This is an opportunity to be involved in an active well supported, exploration program with considerable local profile.

In the role of CHIEF GEOLOGIST you will:

• Assume the lead role in technical matters involving geological input.
• Work closely with the Country Manager to execute Block L exploration and evaluation programs.
• Assist as needed in liaison roles between Kulczyk Oil Brunei and Government entities that oversee technical operations.
• Ensure that actions and objectives comply with HSE, legislative, regulatory and company governance standards and contract requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Prospect generation / evaluation and maturation of prospects to AFE status for drilling. Contributing to and maintaining a balanced portfolio of prospects in terms of risk and play distribution.
• Utilize prospect appraisal and economic ranking methods so as to objectively mange uncertainties and produce high quality well proposal.
• Demonstrating excellence in a high profile, active venture by embracing new techntcal concepts, developing / coaching staff and by applying new ways of working.
• Actively support less experienced staff whilst delivering on targets and goals. Instruct, assist and motivate support personnel and adopt a team spirit and foster same in other members of the Brunel staff.
• Ensure effective communicatinn between all relevant parties and stakeholders,

The following skills and experience are required:

• Degree In Geology or related subjeo,
• More than 15 years experience in the Petroleum Industry.
• Well rounded exploration and/or devopment experience in Brunei.
• Strong communication, analytical andtnterpersonal skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.
• Highly motivated, energetic and goal-orientated with the abilityto work in a fast-paced, team environment.



In the role of SENIOR GEOPHYSICIST you will:
• Take responsibility for acquiring and interpreting seismic and other data to develop a comprehensive, accurate prospect and lead inventory for Block L.
• Work closely with the Country Manager to execute Block L exploration and evaluation programs.
• Assist as needed in liaison roles between Kulczyk Oil Brunel and Government entities that oversee seismic operations.
• Ensure that actions and objectives comply with HSE, legislative, regulatory and company governance standards and contract requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work with Seismic Project Manager to ensure the 2012 3D Acquisition Project is conducted in a safe and technically optimal fashion.
• Monitoring and providing continuous support on seismic acquisition and interpretation of Block L
• Perform liaison responsibilities with PB and other government stakeholders for seismic activities.
• Prospect generation / evaluation and maturation of prospects to AFE status for drilling. Contributing to and maintaining a balanced portfolio of prospects in terms of risk and play distribution.
• Demonstrating excellence in a high profile, active venture by embracing new technical concepts, developing / coaching staff and by applying new ways of working.
• Actively support less experienced staff whilst delivering on targets and goals. Instruct, assist and motivate support personnel and adopt a team spirit and foster same in other members of the Brunei staff.
• Ensure effective communication between all relevant parties and stakeholders.

The following skills and experience are required:

• Degree in Geology/Geophysics or related subject
• More than 10 years experience in the Petroleum Industry.
• Well rounded exploration and/or seismic interpretation experience in Brunei.
• Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.
• Highly motivated, energetic and goal-orientated with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.The successful candidate will report to both the Country Manager in Brunei and the VP of Geosciences, based in Calgary.
